The Gambian Maternity Foundation

Welcome to the The Gambian Maternity Foundation, where compassion meets action to empower & stand beside the women and children of The Gambia through supplying vital medical equipment, facilities and support to a cause in great need.

This year, we have the vision to raise funds for the construction of a clinic in the village of Aljamdou, Gambia. This clinic will serve as a beacon of hope for 18 villages, where thousands of people currently lack access to even the most basic medical services.

There is a word in Mandinkan; “Tay-Sito” which means “Self Reliance” - We work with this principle with the Gambian community standing beside & working on projects together.
With the support of the Ministry of Health and the local community, our aim is to create a robust and efficient medical hub that will serve this beautiful community nestled on the north bank of the river Gambia.

Already, construction has begun on this meaningful project, fueled by the local community's hard work collectively raising funds to buy cement for the clinic. The villagers have cleared the land for the clinic that has been sequestered by the Gambian ministry of health with the agreement that the ministry will staff the clinic upon it’s completion.

Our loving commitment is to provide a haven of care and healing by assisting with the funding for the construction & supplying medical supplies & equipment to the clinic.Together we can contribute towards the creation of a brighter future for this beautiful community on the north bank of the river Gambia.

To bring this vision to life, we're excited to invite you to join us at our fundraiser; Big In The Gambia on the 24th of August in London Bridge. It promises to be an action packed day filled with love, connection and fun with a strong community ethos & feel!
